What an Enrolled Agent does for you
- Checks compliance. Confirms every required return has posted and this year’s withholding or estimated payments are on track. The IRS expects both.
- Reviews your full picture: balances by year, assessment dates, the collection deadline for each year, and any liens or levies.
- Weighs every option against the IRS’s rules: full payment, the Simple Payment Plan, other installment agreements, Currently Not Collectible status, an Offer in Compromise, and penalty relief.
- Recommends one, with the reasons, in plain English in your app.
- Prepares, signs and submits the request, and speaks to the IRS for you.
- Watches for the IRS’s answer and tells you what it means.
What it costs
- Payment plan setup: included with catch-up filing.
- Currently Not Collectible, an Offer in Compromise, or balances over $50,000: [PRICE], because these need a full financial statement and more back-and-forth with the IRS.
- IRS fees are separate, such as the IRS’s payment plan setup fee or the $205 Offer in Compromise application fee, unless you qualify for a low-income waiver.
What we won’t do
- Promise an outcome or a settlement amount.
- Recommend an Offer in Compromise when the numbers say the IRS is very unlikely to accept it.
- Hold or forward your payments to the IRS.
